What Is a Sound Meditation?
A sound Meditation (often called a sound bath) is a guided, meditative experience designed to help your body and nervous system slow down.
During a sound meditation, you’ll rest comfortably while you’re surrounded by continuous, layered sound created with crystal singing bowls. The sustained tones help quiet your thoughts, release physical tension, and support a deep state of relaxation.
In my sessions, I focus exclusively on crystal bowls and play them in a steady, flowing way, no talking (after the beginning meditation), no movement prompts, and no pressure to “do” anything. You simply get comfortable and let the sound do the work.
You don’t need any experience with meditation or sound healing to attend.
Hear the SoundsWhat to Expect
Sound meditations are intentionally simple and consistent so you know what to expect.
A typical standard session includes:
-
a short guided meditation to help you settle and relax
-
followed by a continuous sound experience
-
a gentle transition back to full awareness
-
optional quiet time or space to share experiences or ask questions
The structure stays the same, even though each session may feel a little different.
Please bring a yoga mat, pillow, blanket, or anything else that helps you get comfortable lying down. Chairs are available or welcome at most locations.
What People Often Experience
Everyone’s experience is different, and there’s no “right” way for a sound experience to feel.
Some people notice:
-
a deep sense of calm or relaxation
-
physical sensations like warmth, tingling, or heaviness
-
feeling emotional or reflective
-
drifting in and out of sleep
-
a quiet, focused mental state
Others simply feel rested or grounded afterward.
You might have a strong experience one time and a very subtle one the next, both are normal. The goal isn’t to reach a specific outcome, but to give your body and mind space to slow down and recharge.
Types of Sound Meditations I Offer:
Standard Sound Meditations
(Most Popular)
These are the sessions I offer most often and the best place to start.
Standard sound meditations are led by Giuls using crystal singing bowls and are designed to be, accessible, affordable, easy to attend regularly.
They offer a full-body, grounding experience that helps you slow down, release tension, and reset.
If you’re new to sound meditation or looking for a simple, reliable way to unwind, this is the option most people choose.
Collaborative Sound Experiences
Premium sound meditations are offered occasionally and are designed to be more immersive or collaborative.
These experiences may include:
-
double sound meditations (two practitioners playing together)
-
sound meditation combined with reiki, breathwork, or gentle bodywork
-
longer sessions or smaller group settings
Because these sessions involve additional facilitators, coordination, or setup, they are priced differently than standard sound experiences
Virtual Sound Meditations
While you won’t feel the physical vibrations the same way you would in person, high-quality audio still allows you to experience the calming, meditative effects of the sound.
Virtual sessions are a great option if you:
-
prefer to be at home
-
can’t attend in person
-
want a quieter, more flexible experience
Choosing the Right Session
Many people attend standard sound meditation regularly.
You don’t need to upgrade for a sound bath to be effective, simplicity is intentional here.
Each event listing will clearly note:
-
whether the session is standard, collaborative, or premium
-
what’s included
-
duration and pricing
You can choose what fits your needs, energy, and schedule.

But trust us... recordings don’t do it justice.
In person, you’ll feel the sound vibrating through your entire body. The tones move beyond your ears, creating a full-body experience that promotes deep relaxation, energetic release, and emotional reset.

Upcoming EventsFrom Attendee to Practitioner: My Journey with Sound Baths & Double Sound Baths
Before I truly experienced a sound bath, I had been to yoga classes where they played a few bowls at the end, but it was more of an added element rather than the focus. It wasn’t until I attended my first dedicated sound bath that everything changed for me.
It was incredibly relaxing and meditative, and afterward, I noticed that my chronic illness symptoms were slightly better for days. That experience made me realize I had to keep going. Sound baths became part of my routine, and soon my husband and family started coming with me too. We all fell in love with them!
Eventually, I started hosting sound baths at my family’s business, Carella's Shoes, bringing this practice to my community. The woman I learned from—who played at our events—had an amazing opportunity in her life that meant she wouldn’t be able to host them anymore because she would be traveling. She wanted to pass on her knowledge so I could continue offering these experiences, and that’s when my sister Nina and I trained together under her guidance.
I had never seen Double Sound Baths before we started hosting them. Most people play alone because everyone has a unique style and rhythm. But since Nina and I trained together under the same mentor and had the ability to frequently practice together, we were able to sync up perfectly. That’s how our Double Sound Baths were born—a rare and immersive experience that amplifies relaxation and healing.
If you’ve never been to a sound bath, imagine being “bathed” in sound waves and vibrations. You don’t have to do anything—just lay there, get comfy, and let the sounds wash over you. Some people bring pillows, blankets, and eye covers (which I totally do when I attend). It’s the easiest, most effortless way to relax.
I know it can feel weird to try something new—trust me, it felt weird for me at first, too. But it changed me, and I’m forever grateful I started on this path. So if you have any questions about sound baths, whether from an attendee perspective or as the one playing the bowls, I’m always happy to answer them! 💫
